Plant owners get help

DIAGNOSIS ON the spot.
That is what plant owners got today when they turned up for one in the series of plant clinics, which was held at Carter’s General Store, Wildey, St Michael.
People were encouraged to bring samples of their diseased plants and trees to the clinic for officers to examine and give advice on how to treat the problem. In cases where the problem was not readily known, the samples were taken back to the Ministry of Agriculture for testing.
Senior agricultural officer Crop Protection, Michael James, encouraged people to take better care of their plants by giving them the necessary nutrients year-round and not to wait until they are blossoming or flowering. He said failure to do so could result in smaller yields. (YB)
