Prep on new CXC package

FROM THE START of the next school term, secondary school teachers will be able to better administer the syllabus for the newest qualification being offered by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
Yesterday, 50 teachers benefited from a workshop where the new qualification Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) was discussed.
CXC Registrar for Barbados and Deputy Chief Education Officer David Clement said the CCSLC qualification was new and as a result would have some hiccups, so the workshop was used to familiarise teachers with it as well as make the public more aware.
He said some people still had some uncertainties about where it was going, and parents had been calling the ministry stating that they did not understand some aspects of its administration. Therefore, he said, the ministry was depending on the principals, department heads and teachers to relay that information.
