Students charged in Speightstown row

Five students have been charged in connection with a fracas along the Speightstown Bypass Road, St Peter, on May 29, and which went viral on YouTube and other social media.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch reported yesterday that while all five were accused of making a disturbance, some were facing additional charges.
A 15-year-old Alexandra School student was charged with assault occasioning actual body harm against a Coleridge and Parry (CP) girl.
Two Alexandra students, aged 16 and 13, were also facing a similar charge against a CP student who was struck with a piece of metal and suffered a head injury.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating an incident yesterday in which two 13-year-old Grantley Adams Memorial schoolboys were involved in an altercation after 3 p.m. in Blackman’s, St Joseph. One suffered a stab wound to the left forearm. (LK)
