THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM is cleaned, upgraded and ready to handle any waters anticipated this hurricane season, says Minister of the Environment and Drainage Dr Denis Lowe.
During a tour of the Drainage Division headquarters and several flooding “hot spots” yesterday he said he was “satisfied with the quality of work and the progress in ensuring roadways and gully courses are kept in the best condition”.
Lowe said the tour would touch areas where major money was spent on upgrades to alleviate some of the flooding as well as look at some critical flash-flood sites and work completed there.
The tour encompassed Headley’s Land and Brathwaite Road, Bank Hall, as well as Thorpes and Holetown, St James.  (LK)
