One of the island’s ‘big four’ accounting firms is sending home staff.
Pricewaterhouse-Coopers’ (PwC) territory senior partner Marcus Hatch confirmed to the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday that the firm was severing eight members of staff but denied that their jobs were going to another regional country.
An affected member of the PwC staff had complained that most of the workers undertaking back office work in the finance department would lose their jobs at the end of October and those jobs were being outsourced to PwC’s operations in Trinidad and Tobago.
She lamented the fact that many of the workers were over 50 years of age and would find it difficult to get re-employed in the current environment.
