Barbados Labour Party leader Mia Mottley has been summoned to a meeting at Grantley Adams House, Roebuck Street, St Michael on Monday.
The letter, dated October 12, states the meeting is being convened to review Mottley’s leadership of the Opposition party. A similar letter has also been sent to MPs Cynthia Forde, Rawle Eastmond and William Duguid.
Both are signed by the majority of the members of the Opposition party, former Prime Minister Owen Arthur, Ronald Toppin, Gline Clarke, George Payne and Dale Marshall.
This comes on the heels of yesterday’s plan to topple Mottley from the helm of the party was aborted. Yesterday there was a five hour meeting convened by Clarke, who is secretary of the parliamentary. At that meeting the St George North MP said: “She is still the leader of the Opposition and we will give her that support until further notice”. He said there were still a number of leadership issues to be discussed.
