MY PROBLEM IS: My girl dresses to tease guys

Date:

Share post:

MY GIRLFRIEND loves attention and dresses to attract stares. So she always wears tight blouses with low cut bras which make her breasts bulge and seem to be trying to pop out of her chest. And she loves to wear tight, short skirts that exaggerate the size of her butt while showing off her long, shapely legs.
Besides that, she flirts with men. When she realizes they are staring at her, she stares right back and sometimes even winks at them. This has caused some men to approach her even though it is obvious I am with her, and on one occasion a really obnoxious man and I nearly got into a fight because he refused to leave her.
I would admit that I met her like this. Even after we became a couple, the way she dressed was no problem. In fact, it turned me on. But after two years and months together, and at the mature age of 25, I would like her to dress less provocatively. In me she already has a man, so I don’t think she needs to dress like that to attract another man.
When I told her this, she said I was being unreasonable and accused me of trying to change her. But that’s not it. I want us to get married and I would not want my wife behaving like that. Everything in life is for a time, and she should understand this. What do you think?

Dear K,
I understand what you want and what you’re asking for, but is your girlfriend mature enough to appreciate what you’re saying?
She clearly gets a deep-seated pleasure from turning heads and there is a psychological reason for that. She needs to understand why she feels the need for this and try to modify her behaviour – not for you or your relationship – but for her own well-being.
If you feel strongly about her and you’re equally strongly disgusted by this aspect of her behaviour, you have to decide if you can continue in that relationship under those circumstances. Just do not abuse her in any way to “bend” her to your wishes as that would likely backfire. You two should consider counselling on this matter.
