Alleyne, CP Under-15 v-ball champs

The Alleyne?girls fought tooth and nail to deny Coleridge & Parry the quadruple in Super Centre School’s volleyball when the finals of the Under-15 competition were staged at the Wildey Gymnasinm on Monday.
With Nekela Jordan and the stylish Tia Jones leading the battle, Alleyne avenged the loss which their Under-19s had suffered to CP in their finals, 25-12, 24-26, 15-9, to end the tournament unbeaten.
The CP boys then started slowly in their battle with Combermere before taking charge, particularly in the middle with some humbling blocks on the Waterford lads to take the game, 30-28, 25-20, to join their under 19s as volleyball champions.
That was Combermere’s first defeat but they could take some consolation in Johnathan Alleyne being selected as one of the outstanding players.
Kimar Hinds and Stephen Packer were picked as outstanding players from CP along with their girl representative, Tanisha Gibson.
