Dear Christine,
I AM GOING AROUND with a man who is married. His wife is a terrible woman. He says she does not look after him properly.
Many times he brings his clothes for me to wash. He also likes the food I cook for him and the attention I give to him. My sister is always telling me that I am stupid and this man is taking me for a ride.
I believe the only reason why she is saying these things is because he liked her at first but she would not take him on. Now that I have him she always has something to say about the two of us.
This man is a very jealous man but I do not do anything to make him upset. I always wait until he comes to spend time with me or to take me out.
He says he is going to get a divorce from his wife and then marry me because we have a good understanding between us.
The thing is this, Christine: he told me so two years ago and yet he is still living with his wife.
Please tell me what you think.
P.S.
Dear P.S.,
I think that your sister is the wise one; I cannot say the same thing about you.
This man is smarter than you realize and he knows you are a gullible woman. After two years you’re still believing that same old story about the man waiting to divorce his wife so he can be with his lover.
It’s the same old story, with different actors involved.I don’t even believe that the stories he has told you about his wife are true. If she is so terrible why is he still living under the same roof with her?
As far as the washing of clothes and cooking are concerned, you have become his maid.Wives these days are a lot smarter than many people give them credit for. Perhaps she made it clear to him that she would not be doing his laundry, and he could easily make it appear like he is taking his clothes to a “real” laundry.
Think, woman! Think! He’s getting free food, free laundry services and some loving – all for free; while sleeping next to his wife every night.
Wake up and listen to what your sister is saying. She is not jealous over this married man. I believe she has your best interest at heart.
Having said all this, I should not have to tell you to put an end to this relationship. It’s the right and obvious thing to do.
– CHRISTINE
