BTA faces lawsuit

A United States debt collecting agency has threatened to file a lawsuit against the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) for failure to pay a $1/4 million debt owed two radio stations.
Walter Sheltz, chief executive of MMG?Consulting/Media Collections, told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday that he was about to take action in the Los Angeles Superior Court since his firm was getting the runaround for the oustanding sum owed CBS Radio and California News Network.
However BTA?president David Rice said the matter would be resolved shortly.
He pointed out that the BTA spent more than $20 million on advertising and marketing Barbados annually.
