Renewed calls are being made for a state-of-the-art indoor multipurpose facility in Barbados that will cater to arts and entertainment.
Veteran promoter Al Gilkes said he had been calling for such a facility from as far back as the 1970s.
He said places such as Frank Collymore Hall, Queen’s Park Steel Shed and school halls were inappropriate and inadequate for certain entertainment events, and that the National Stadium and Kensington Oval were equally unsuitable.
“We need a facility that can cater to 1 000 persons and up. A lot of promoters have been calling for a facility over the years, but all we have got is a lot of talk from Government,” Gilkes stated.
