LOCAL FOOTBALL’S chief administrator Ronald Jones yesterday blew his whistle at foul play and called for the reinstatement of suspended interim CONCACAF president Lisle Austin.
And in a strongly worded letter sent to re-elected FIFA?president Sepp Blatter on Sunday, the Barbados Football Association (BFA)?president said he was concerned about the “bloodletting” taking place in CONCACAF?and called for “fair play” withinthe confederation.
Jones urged Blatter’s “investigation . . . and the immediate reinstatement of Mr Austin to his rightful post as the acting president of CONCACAF”.
The BFA head’s call came as several regional football federations were summoned for interviews in Miami where former FBI?head Louis Freeh was scheduled to start a probe into bribery allegations stemming from a controversial Caribbean Football Union (CFU)?meeting in Trinidad and Tobago last month, bankrolled by suspended Asian soccer chief Mohammed Bin Hamman.
