Barbados welcomes new AA service

Barbados welcomed the inaugural American Airlines (AA) non-stop flight from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, to Grantley Adams International Airport on Thursday.
Arriving passengers on the historic flight were met with great fanfare signaling the end of negotiations to increase airlift from the largest American Airlines hub in the United States.
At a reception to welcome the carrier, Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy told representatives from the Barbados Tourism Authority, Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association and American Airlines, including the flight crew, that the new route showed great promise and potential.
As part of the ceremony the minister was presented with a replica of an American Eagle by Wellesley Joseph, AA’s country manager for Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.
