The Christmas spirit is alive and well at the Sharon Primary School and the students there are spreading joy and cheer.
Last Tuesday students and teachers continued their Christmas celebrations with a party and the viewing of the Winter Wonderland on display at the school.  The display was created for the evening of entertainment last Saturday evening under the theme Lights At Sharon Primary.
Art Teacher Maxine Walker, who designed the display with the help of a parent Arlington Hoyte said, “The response to the Winter Wonderland was so great that they decided to leave the display up for the remainder of the week.”
Walker added that there used to be the production at Ilaro Court called Lights at Ilaro Court which was discontinued so a parent suggested that a similar exercise be started at the school and the school started the exercise six year ago.
Students, teachers and members of the Parents Teacher Association executive took a week to create decorations.
Walker explained, “We spent many evenings here making the decorations, the children cut out the snowflakes and applied glitter to the decorations which were made mostly of recycled materials including plastic bottles, cups and card.” (LK)
