Family’s special Christmas gift

If home is truly where the heart is, then there can be no question Zilta Felicien is home for the holidays.
The 30-year-old woman, who was born in St Lucia, and her 12-year-old daughter Amaya are in Barbados to spend time with Felicien’s sister, 33-year-old Della Evelyn, and Evelyn’s son Anthony, 8, as part of Starcom Network Inc.’s Home for the Holidays Christmas promotion.
Evelyn, said she last saw her sister in August last year when she went to St Lucia on business. Subsequently, circumstances suggested to her that a holiday together was just what the doctor ordered for the family.
“My sister’s home burned down in October [this year] and she was unemployed,” Evelyn noted. “Since we are living in a recession, it was a given she was under a lot of pressure and, since I always knew she wanted to come to Barbados and as Christmas is a time for family, sharing and caring, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for her to destress and for us to bond. Plus, I knew my son would love to see her.”
