Four to appear in St Vincent court tomorrow

Four Barbadians arrested at sea last Thursday night in connection with over 1 700 pounds of marijuana are expected to appear in the St Vincent’s Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
The men are Joel Erad Payne, 50, of 2nd Avenue Bank Hall, St Michael, Shawn Boucher, 36, of Lower Estate, St George, Ryan Corbin, 35, of Cave Hill, St Michael and Devon Hurdle, 38, of Rendezvous, Christ Church.
According to reports, local police Drug Squad and the Maritime Unit, along with Barbados Coast Guard personnel were involved in a high speed chase with a boat approaching the island and allegedly carrying the men and 24 bales of ganja.
The St Vincent Coast Guard held the boat and men when they allegedly attempted to return to the neighbouring island. (TS)
