It does not matter how deep you have gone in sin, God is willing to save you to the utmost.
But remember that the unrighteous cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor drunkards.
Furthermore, those who are covetous or enjoy revelling cannot enter the Kingdom of God.
Preaching to those gathered during the recent Seventh-Day Adventist Maranatha Crusade, visiting Evangelist Roosevelt Daniels pointed out the need for a “new birth” experience in Christ as the prerequisite for entering Heaven.
In so doing, he cautioned believers that it was not just enough to be saved, but to be totally transformed by the renewing of their minds, having a change of attitude and presenting their bodies as a living sacrifice – holy unto God.
“Be not conformed to this world,” he preached, as he also urged his listeners to serve God with their whole heart, body, soul, mind and spirit.
“When a man is born again, he is changed. His love for sin is no more, and this is as a result of the work of the Holy Spirit.”
Daniels said that many were professing to be Christians while adopting lifestyles contrary to God’s standards.
“You cannot be born again and continue to live like a homosexual, and if you die while you are living as a fornicator an adulterer, thief, or liar, you will go to Hell,” he warned.
Daniels further stressed that anyone who comes to Christ and is still committing any of these sins, is dammed.
“If you and I are planning to go to Heaven, remember that no sin can enter there. There will not be adulterers in Heaven, but former adulterers. There will be no fornicators in Heaven but former fornicators. Neither will there be thieves in Heaven or liars, but former thieves and former liars,” Daniels stressed.
He noted, however, that God provided a way for man to be saved and this was through His Son Jesus Christ.
“You don’t have to come to God through a priest or human mediator. You can come directly to the throne of Grace [through prayer] where you will find help,” he stressed.
“In order for you to be saved, you must first repent. There must be a confession of sin, and the first step to salvation is forgiveness. We must all be forgiven of our sins, but forgiveness will only come after restoration,” Daniels added.
He pointed out that “when a man is truly converted, his past opens up; his dead conscious becomes alive and restoration is made”.
The preacher was dogmatic about the role people play in sending themselves either to Heaven or to Hell.
“While you are alive, you are the one who chooses your resurrection. You can die in the Lord and be resurrected in Christ, or go to Hell. The choice is yours,” he warned.
