BETTER LUCK next time.

That next ATP Challenger title continues to elude Darian King, as Barbados’ best ever tennis player missed out on winning yet another piece of silverware by losing yesterday’s final of the Orlando Open.

Facing unseeded American Marcos Giron, King lost his opening service games of both sets before missing vital chances to break back in a disheartening 6-4, 6-4 defeat on Court 3.

It was the first ATP Challenger title for the 25-year-old American, who brought an end to King’s inspiring run in Florida by pouncing on anything that strayed into his forehand with a series of lethal crosscourt passes. (JM)
