Reggae artistes thrill fans

WHILE RAIN HAD marred many of the previously held shows, today was weather-perfect as tens of thousands travelled to the Hill to soak up conscious vibes at the tenth annual Reggae on the Hill at Farley Hill National Park.
With coolers in tow and food pans in hand, one of the largest crowds in history, according to promoter Al Gilkes, took in a Bajan contingent of about 15 acts who warmed up the stage. They performed to a crowd that steadily built up from about 1 p.m. and was increasing even at 7 p.m. as many who were on the outside spied the vehicles transporting Beres Hammond and Jah Cure and took that time to enter the venue.
At 3p.m. Jamaican Bugle sounded his horn and commanded the crowd on his first appearance on the Hill. With songs like Infidelity and Nuh Compatible he had the crowd eating out of his hand.
Tessanne Chin’s voice took over the Hill and many people in their homes near the Hill must have heard her doing the songs that earned her The Voice trophy.
She sounded even better live and she has many fans, judging by the numbers who sang along with her and wanted their pictures taken after she exited the stage.
