It was dubbed an all-white affair. But, by the time the party animals had finished hours of non-stop jamming on Thursday night, their clothing was far from lily white.Power X Four’s annual fete Glow had patrons in a soca frenzy from start to finish. So sweet were the vibes, that some partied all the way through to the wee hours of Friday morning.Hundreds packed the Party Stand on Harbour Road, St Michael, under the hanging iridescent lights and viewed the action with the help of a giant screen mounted at the left side of the stage. Things slid into high gear when the newly formed band Soca Kartel performed. Mikey and Blood mashed up the whole place with hits like Mi Foot On Fire and Party Anthem.Li’l Rick, Unda Dawg and Hypa Kids kept things hyped with Hard Wine, Tick Tock and Happy Feet. It was a sight to see the crowd responding in unison to Rick’s command to Go Dung.Around 3:40 a.m. the island’s top soca band came onstage. The General effortlessly called the assembly to order as he took them on a musical ride with krosfyah through the years, starting with last year’s hit song In De Middle Ah De Road.Old tunes to new ones, hit after hit were belted out by the 20-year-old band. The crowd sang along to songs like Something Greater Than Me, Pump Me Up, Sweatin and Nah Missing. The crowd was already hyped, but things reached yet another level with the intro of Chrissening, which worked them into a hysteria.DJ Tammy then held sway with the crowd until 7 a.m. Other performers for the event were Natahlee, Mr Dale, Alison and Lorenzo.
