Star batter Deandra Dottin was unlucky to have been given out for a first-ball “duck”, but had some impact with the ball delivering two fiery overs for the West Indies against New Zealand in Sunday’s nail-biting Tri-Nation Twenty20 International cricket match at Kensington Oval.
Dottin delivered two fiery overs for five runs as the West Indies limited the White Ferns to 101 for seven. However, the home team could only muster 92 for eight in their 20 overs, losing by nine runs, their first defeat in the series.
After back-to-back opening wins against New Zealand and England in which Dottin scored 52 and 32, the result would have been disappointing for home team fans.
The versatile Dottin has promised to bounce back with both bat and ball as the West Indies seek to earn a place in Saturday’s final.
