Police investigating two fires

Police are investigating two fires which resulted in one house being completely destroyed and another house being extensively damaged.

The first fire occurred about 4:15 p.m. yesterday, destroyed one wooden house belonging to 36-year-old Karen Natasha Harding, of Church Hill Road, Christ Church.

The four-bedroom wooden house was occupied by Harding and her four sons. Nothing was saved from the uninsured residence.

The second fire occurred about 9:51 on Thursday at Harts Gap, Christ Church, and extensively damaged an insured three-bedroom wooden house.

It was owned by 40-year-old Mohamed Adam, of Bayswater #2, Deacons Road, St Michael and occupied by Guyanese nationals Gopaul Roopchand, 55, and Regina Ramdal, 34, as well as a third man known only as Leonard Singh.

Three fire tenders and nine personnel under the command of Station Officer King from the Barbados Fire Service responded and extinguished the fire about 10:15 a.m. There were no injuries and no other structures were damaged. (PR)
