MORE THAN 200 National Conservation Commission (NCC) workers could be out of a job this month.
General secretary of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), Dennis Clarke, said yesterday that “just over 200” NCC employees were expected to be laid off in March as part of Government’s sweeping retrenchment programme.
Most of those earmarked to lose jobs were “weekly paid persons who are involved in manual labour”, Clarke told the media.
He also said the Barbados Community College (BCC) was among the institutions looking at job cuts.
