COMBERMERE are the champions of the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Netball League Ivor Taxi & Tours First Form Competition.Last week at the Netball Stadium, Combermere emerged first among the 16 schools with 73 points, to add to their Under-13 title.They were followed by Springer Memorial (69), The Lester Vaughan School (67), Garrison School (64) and Harrison College who rounded out the top five with 54 points.Over the two-day competition, Combermere scored 100 goals and conceded 21. They were tied with Springer Memorial on the first day with 38 points. Springer scored 105 goals and conceded 19. The top four schools accounted for the seven top players. Combermere had goal attack Sheniqua Thomas, the Under-16 national, and goal defence Shanise Edwards; Springer Memorial had wing attack Lishia Clarke and wing defence Tiffany Morris, while shooter Sharika Bullen and ‘keeper Kayla Worrell hail from Lester Vaughan. The centre was Ashlee Sargeant of the Garrison. (SAT)
