Living with a little reserve

FOR HIS 100th birthday, Gordon Oscar Lloyd was treated  to a day by the seaside as family and friends celebrated his big  day yesterday in Bathsheba, St Joseph.
Eldest son Gordon Oliver said his father had the right qualities to reach the ripe old age.
“I guess you don’t live to be 100 without being domineering, disciplined, stubborn and focused,”  he said. “He is also independent and strong, values he taught me over the years.”
Oliver admitted he did not spend a lot of time with his father, moving  to Canada at a young age, but said he would never forget how clean-cut and well dressed his father always was. He said he would also remember  the inspirational words  his father told him. (CA)
