Veteran entertainer Young Cassius Clay amazed visitors and locals with his fire-eating skills (right) yesterday following the 5th annual Cruise and Run on Spring Garden Highway.
Clay’s stunts, along with a Mother Sally’s gyrations and a stilt walker’s antics, formed a package of entertainment for 170 cruise passengers from the Caribbean Princess who took part in the five-kilometre charity run.
Jerome Blackett of Barbados was the first male finisher and Canadian Nancy Chung was the first woman in.
As a result of the run, 200 schoolchildren will be getting shoes donated by the visitors.
Students of St Leonard’s Boys’, Princess Margaret and Garrison Secondary will get the chance to choose first. Those schools participated in the run.
