Four on robbery charges

Police have arrested and charged four men, including three Jamaicans, with a string of armed robberies and burglaries committed over the past five months.
They are 33-year-old Gairy Zephirin, of Exchange, Valley Land, St George, along with Jamaicans Kingsley Anderson, 30, of Rendezvous Terrace, Christ Church; Maurice Whitfield, 25, of Arthur’s Land, Tweedside Road, St Michael; and Donovan Jackson, 21, of Reece Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael.
Zephirin, Anderson and Whitfield are accused of 15 counts of robbery using a firearm, as well as two counts of aggravated robbery. Jackson is charged with handling stolen property and possession  of illegal drugs.
Reports are that the robberies were committed across several districts in the island while the accused were using a car. The four will appear in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court today to answer the charges. (TS)
