Making awesome noise

THEY SAY WHEREVER two or three are gathered, God is in the midst.
And that was certainly the case at Farley Hill last Sunday.
The crowd was not grand reaching into the thousands, as is the norm for Gospelfest, but those who were there would agree that it was indeed One Awesome Day.
Through intermittent drizzles people made their way to the Hill with picnic baskets and coolers laden with Sunday lunch and snacks.
Those who did not want to load themselves down with stuff were adequately fed and watered from the stalls that provided a variety of things to munch on, ranging from popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, fish cakes, and going all the way up to the traditional Sunday fare.
The main course was the sustaining stuff to satisfy all levels of spiritual thirst and hunger. It was buffet style, and at an unbeatable price!
The Caribbean was well-represented on and off-stage, and many of those people walked with their rags and flags, which came in quite handy for the revelry.
Local boy Shane Forrester was one of the acts people came specifically to see, and he got a lot of love for his offerings.
The biggest response went to the artistes who ministered in a reggae style. These included Broadway Boys, CYI and Sons of Zion from Trinidad and Tobago, Kevin Downswell of Jamaica and main act Papa San.
By the time Papa San hit the stage around 6:50 p.m., the crowd had grown appreciably. He satisfied the craving of his fans with hits like Hail Him Up, Pop Style, God and I, Church House and Stand.
