The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy says Barbados winter season is expected to be much better than last year with flights, but cruise numbers are likely to take a dip.
Our readers have been following up this story and talking tourism this morning.
This is what some are saying so far on the issue.
Angela J Thompson Branch: “Lots of the flights will be sea to air and air to sea. How will that benefit Barbados?”
Kevon Harris: “More flights? That don’t mean nothing if the people don’t spend.”
Sharon Woolley: “Winter brings the very rich to Barbados, and they will still come, but can the BTA truthfully just count, December – February in rising figures?  Someone needs to either fire the current BTA or give them a good kick, because they are giving out false hopes to people.”
