Bank gives to school’s JA

More Barbadian students will be able to develop their entrepreneurial skills following a $10 000 donation by CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank to the Junior Achievement of Barbados (JA) programme.
The bank announced last week that it had sponsored the JA programme at Grantley Adams Memorial School where the funds would be used to train volunteers and teachers to help facilitate the programme as well as provide materials, facilitate field trips and provide seed money for companies started by students.
The bank’s staff will also serve as guest speakers at Grantley Adams as well as other schools as needed.
JA programmes across the world show young people how to create jobs, generate and effectively manage wealth and apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. (NB)
