LIAT today announced that it had reached a partnership with Panamanian –based airline COPA allowing it to move cargo from the Eastern Caribbean to Cuba with same day delivery.
“With so many students from the islands now studying in Cuba and with the many Cuban doctors, nurses and diplomats throughout the Caribbean, we think they should be aware that there is a very efficient way of transporting goods including personal effects to and from Cuba,” LIAT’s  Director of Cargo and Quikpak,  Wilbur Edwards, said.
He said the same-day service would also allow for the movement of cargo from Cuba to the Eastern Caribbean through Santo Domingo three days a week.
Edwards said the service would also be beneficial to many people now interacting with Cuba
“Further, with LIAT’s recent launch of its dedicated cargo freighter service with 3,400 kilos capacity, large shipments can be accommodated without any difficulty. We are eagerly waiting to serve the many Cubans in our network as well as the large student community in Cuba.” (CMC)
