DAYS?AFTER THE?OPENING of the new market facility for vendors at Palmetto Square, The City, some of the temporary sheds which were previously occupied by the vendors have been removed.
Last Sunday, private workers contracted by the Ministry of Public Works took down several of the sheds outside the entrance to the Parliament building. These stalls had been there for as long as six years.
Two of the stalls from which drinks and food are sold are to be kept until provisions are made in a refurbished section of the older vendors’ mall also at Palmetto Square.
The operators have stated that they expect the renovations to last a few months.
