THE Barbados Football Association (BFA) has given its members strict guidelines to follow pertaining to the purchase of tokens for usage at National Sports Council (NSC) venues.
In a letter dated November 8 and signed by general secretary Edwyn Wood, the association outlined eight rules for clubs.
The letter states that the BFA will sell tokens to member clubs only and BFA member clubs can purchase tokens from the BFA office only and not from the NSC or others.
Additionally, a maximum six tokens will be sold to each club at any given time, and clubs are to identify two people who will be responsible for purchasing the tokens on their behalf. A key for the token box will be issued by the NSC for these persons to access the token box on behalf of football. (Please see accompanying box for complete list of guidelines).
BFA GUIDELINES
• Tokens sold by the BFA will be sold only
to member clubs.
• BFA member clubs can only now purchase tokens from the BFA office
and not from the NSC or others.
• Preference for the moment will be on the Premier League clubs for training and the Division One clubs which started their competition on November 14, meaning tokens will only be sold at the moment
to these clubs.
• A maximum six tokens will be sold to each club at any given time.
• Clubs are to identify two people who will be responsible for purchasing the tokens on their behalf. A key for the token box will be issued by the NSC for these people to access the token box on behalf of football.
• These persons will sign a liability form issued by the BFA and this information will be passed on to the NSC for its records.
• Under no circumstances are the keys to be passed on to other persons or are tokens to be sold to other clubs.
• The BFA will send a weekly list of the tokens sold and to whom they were sold to the NSC in order for it to monitor usage and to identify any misuse.
