The local TGI Friday’s is closing its doors.
The local branch of the American restaurant chain at Hastings, Christ Church first opened its doors locally in 2007, making it the 300th TGI Friday’s to open outside the continental United States at the time. The casual dining and bartending institution was officially launched at the Barbados Pavilion under the patronage of then Prime Minister Owen Arthur and was being managed regionally by Trinidadian company Prestige Holdings Limited, in partnership with C.O. Williams.
Yesterday a sign on the door from management stated  that it was with “deep regret” the restaurant was now closed and thanked their guests and suppliers for all the support. It is not known how many people were employed at the restaurant.
Management declined comment, instead referring to an upcoming statement scheduled to be released tomorrow by Chief Executive Officer at Prestige Holdings Limited Charles Pashley in Trinidad. (CA)
