AstroTurf void

THE FUTURE of the Banks International Barbados Hockey Festival could be under serious threat if issues surrounding  the AstroTurf are  not quickly addressed.
That is the view of president of the Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF), David Rouse, who revealed that the drop-off  in international teams for the annual festival was directly related to the absence of the AstroTurf.
Speaking to SATURDAY SPORT, Rouse, who is also chairman of the Festival Committee, said that the availability of an AstroTurf could ”make or break” the festival, which is billed as one of the top five adult hockey festivals in the world.
With the unavailability of the AstroTurf, matches will be played on natural grass surfaces at Queen’s Park and the Police Sports Club, Weymouth.
