The finish line is in February.
Instead of taking their annual break, workers from C.O. Williams Construction will remain on the job through the Christmas season to meet the February deadline for finishing the track at the National Stadium.
Originally slated to take four months, the $2.5 million project, which began in August, was expected to be completed at the end of December or early January 2013.
Director of Sports at the National Sports Council, Erskine King, told NATIONSPORT some time was lost in the early phase.
“There has been steady work with the engineers, C.O. Williams and Mondo. While we fell behind earlier, a lot of that is being made up and will be made up during the [holiday] period,” he said.
