WITH SEVEN DAYS to go before Christmas, hundreds of people are converging on the various shopping areas across the island to grab whatever bargains they can.
Some are shopping for gifts, several for curtains, artificial flowers and housewares to beautify their home.
Yesterday there were hundreds of people on Broad Street and Swan Street. Despite this, management of a number of stores reported slow sales, but were optimistic there would be an improvement as the countdown to Christmas continued.
“We are expecting a very strong finish going into the last week of Christmas,” said managing director of Abed’s, Edward Abed.
