BCA selection panel quits

A SINGLE WICKET had yet to fall and three of Barbados’ “top order” were already walking off.
The controversy surrounding the leadership of the regional side has taken its most decisive turn yet after three members of the selection committee – including chairman George Linton – tendered their resignation yesterday following the stunning elevation of Shamarh Brooks, an under-achiever in 16 first-class matches with an average of 24.
News of the panel’s shocking departure –  Winston Reid and Michael Inniss walked away with Linton – first broke via electronic media during the morning session of the Regional Four-Day encounter against Guyana.
The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) confirmed the resignation in a subsequent brief release later in the day.
