MATCHING human resources development in Barbados with the skill sets in demand now and needed in the future will be the focus of a conference later this month.
The Ministry of Education will be undertaking the four-year Skills For The Future (SFTF) Barbados Programme to the tune of $40 million, coming out of which will be the Skills For The Future Barbados Conference 2014.
Speaking yesterday at the launch of the conference, Dr Patrick Rowe, director of the Higher Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, said the conference is designed to support better collaboration between industry and training institutions as they design new educational programmes.
The conference will be held under the theme Build, Innovate, Transform.
