Tourism officials and a host of guests from the Indian community were at the All Seasons Resort in Sunset Crest, St James, last weekend for the opening of the Asian Spice Restaurant.
The hotel’s director Soni Kessuram was in great spirits as she talked about the delectable Mughlai cuisine which the new restaurant has on offer. She also took guests on a tour of the property, which is undergoing a $4 million renovation.
Kessuram said Mughlai cuisine known for its exotic spices and dried fruit and nuts, was “one of the most popular cuisines in North India”, with origins going back to the Mughlai Empire when such dishes were prepared in the kitchens of the royal Mughlai Emperors.
Guests at the opening of Asian Spice got more than a sampling, including vegetarian hors d’oeuvres and both males and females turned up decked out in “royal-style” finery for the event.
