Principal’s plea

SCHOOL PRINCIPALS are marathon runners and need the required training for the long haul.
That call came yesterday from president of the Association of Public Primary School Principals, Ivan Clarke, who likened those in the fraternity to the athletes at the just concluded London Olympics when he addressed the issue at the annual breakfast meeting at Hilton Barbados.
“We know very well that athletes require the best of training, the best of care so that they can perform. And as principals we really cannot perform without the requisite training  . . . .
“Most of us as athletes are in it for the long haul. We are marathon runners, so we need that training,” he stressed as he called on the Ministry of Education to put the relevant structures in place. (YB)
