Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners (CCC) should be re-admitted to the regional four-day first-class cricket competition, says Roland Butcher.
The head coach of the Academy of Sport, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus was speaking to NATION SPORT following CCC Marooners’ capture of their first one-day Regional Super 50 Cup title on Sunday.
Barbadian-born Butcher explained that the team shouldn’t be allowed to play merely on achieving their first victory but because they genuinely had something to offer West Indies cricket.
“I certainly do believe they should be given the opportunity to play but not because of the performance in the one-day competition because they have been performing well for a really long time. This programme has produced a number of West Indies players and some current ones as well,” noted Butcher. (RG)
