Passion for pork lime

HUNDREDS converged at the BET Complex, Wildey, St Michael for the inaugural Contact Kadooment band Pork Lime. Combining grilled meat with free calypso seems to be the Bajan party “mix” of choice.Wining your waist to the soca beats pumping from the massive speakers made manoeuvring through the thick crowd a bit easier, but by the time Hypadawg took over the mic, there was no point trying to get closer to the stage.All over the grounds, limers ate, drank and made merry as Khiomal, Gorg, Mr Dale, Mikey and Blood got busy on stage.Barking out his 2010 selection What A Feeling, Li’l Rick also got some help revving up the sports club posse from a willing female dancer, whose movements would bewilder any chiropractor.Once the live acts were over, the DJ set entertained the still growing crowd. The air was filled with a medley of tunes from veteran calypsonian the Mighty Gabby, who worked his way through the years till the current hits were shaking bottles as far away as the gas station on the other side of the roundabout. The session continued with hits from yesteryear and today.
