The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has hinted at sabotage following a glitch that saw the party’s newsletter being sent out to supporters scores of times in quick succession yesterday.
On the heels of the incident, campaign manager Jimmy Serrao said security systems would be beefed up to prevent a recurrence.
The email, with the subject line BLP Newsletter – January 28, 2013, was sent to individuals on the party’s mailing list 78 times between 11:51 a.m. and 12:42 p.m.
Serrao dispatched an apology email minutes after the last electronic message, describing the incident as “a highly unusual technical occurrence”.
“We are currently actively investigating the cause and strengthening our systems, including our security systems, to ensure that this will never, ever happen again. We apologize for the inconvenience,” he said. (DP)
