Sis, get out and start new life

Dear Christine,
THIS LETTER is to all the women out there who have not yet accepted or refuse to accept that married men hardly ever leave their wives. My sister is a perfect example.
She has been involved with a married man for 19 years and they have a young son. She just found out he has been “cheating” on her for three years, and all she is saying is that he disrespected her.
Can you believe that?
Don’t get me wrong – I love my sister, but I have been telling her for 19 years that man will not leave his wife and is going to hurt her. So said, so done!
Can’t she see he has been disrespecting his wife for 19 years?
What makes her think he won’t do it to her? He gave her a ring which she foolishly wears on her ring finger. I told her it’s the closest she will get to a wedding band from him.
She could have saved her money and bought her own home, instead she is stupidly living in a house which is in his name.
God forbid anything should happen to him and his wife and children put out her and the child. To this day she cannot see she is wrong.
I told her from day one she should have her house in order, but no, she was happy jet-setting all over the place with him while his wife was at home crying and taking care of his children.
Now, it’s all happening to her. She is at home with their child and he is off jet-setting all over the world with another woman. All she is asking is how could he do this to her?
He told her “it is over” with the other woman yet he can be seen with her and at her home.
When she asks him about it, he tells her they are friends and it is her he wants. The thing is, she still believes he wants to be with her and that he loves her.
My question to her was: “If that is the case, why is he still seeing the other woman even though you know?
She has to ask herself why after all these years he is still with his wife even though his children are now adults.
She put that wife through hell believing every lie that man told her. I asked her: “How could you have stayed with him for so long with only a promise that he would leave his family one day?
“How could you have hurt another human being repeatedly for so many years?”
I hope if she ever gets married someone does not do to her what she did to that woman.
There is something called karma. If a man cheats on a woman to be with you, he will cheat on you to be with another woman. It’s only a matter of time.
What is she going to tell her son when he starts asking questions? How is he going to look at her when he understands that someone else’ husband is his father?
How is he going to feel? What is she teaching him about relationships and trust?
We adults “do stupidness” and drag innocent children into it. What can she say to him if he does the same thing in his adult life or someone cheats on him? How can she tell him it is wrong when she has been doing it for 19 years and will not stop?
She is family and the family is there for her but she has to put her house in order now. She needs to get out of that house before she is put out and start building a new life for her and her son.
She needs to give herself a chance to find real love with someone who respects her.
I hope this letter saves at least one woman from such demise.– Still Have Faith
Dear Still Have Faith,
Your letter is very explicit and there is not much I can say other than I hope your sister comes to her senses and that others will learn from what you’ve shared.
Mind you, that man’s turn will also come. – CHRISTINE
