Warm welcome!

Using the rhythmic sounds of drums, conch shells and iron beats, stiltwalkers and colourful dancing girls helped to give the West Indies cricketers a warm welcome to Barbados when they arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday.
Following an official greeting by Alex Tasker of Digicel, only Krishmar Santokie seemed bold enough to “guh down” with one of the dancers. Captain Darren Sammy turned down an invitation to dance with one of the girls by holding up his left hand and citing pain in his ring finger while Bajan pacer Fidel Edward (at right) remained stiff and stoic as a Royal guard as one of the dancers gyrated on him.
With the smooth transition from the arrival hall of personnel and baggage being overseen by a heavy police presence, the members of the team quickly boarded the bus to their hotel.
Windies will play Australia in the second T20 at Kensington Oval on Friday with the visitors leading 1-0 in the two-match series. (KB)
