The situation appears normal at the Alexandra School in St Peter this morning.
It was believed that most of the teachers at the St Peter school would be absent for clesses today.
However, Nation reporter Anesta Henry who was on the scene just before 8 a.m., is reporting that students were seen strolling on to the compound, while teachers were driving in.
She said principal Jeff Broomes was also spotted talking to two police officers.
President of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union Mary Redman said in today’s DAILY NATION that instead of reporting for the first day of teaching this term. the teachers were to meet again to strategise.
Today’s action follows a threat by teachers to withdraw their labour over longstanding problems with Broomes.
