SSA boss: Enough

Stanton?Alleyne, who has spent the last eight years acting as general manager of the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA), says he has had enough and is retiring after more than three decades in the public service.
Alleyne, 61, whose firing by the SSA?board in June 2008 prompted a national strike, told the DAILY?NATION that the time had come for him to move on.
“I have had enough. The time has come for me to put everything behind me and go home and relax,” said Alleyne, who is now on pre-retirement leave.
“I never was appointed but what will be, will be. I am relieved to be calling it a day in October.”
