BARBADIANS need to protect senior citizens from exploitation and abuse, an Anglican priest said yesterday.
According to Canon Wayne Isaacs of St Paul’s Church, there were too many stories about the elderly who suffered at the hands of their families, caregivers and friends.
He was delivering a sermon during a service yesterday to mark the start of the Geriatric Hospital’s week of activities for Senior Citizens Month.
“Many of our senior citizens are exploited and abused physically, mentally and emotionally and their lives are made miserable,” Isaacs said.
Care for seniors!
