Rain fails to stop either party

TOMORROW will be decision day for St John voters and the Democratic Labour Party’s Mara Thompson and the Barbados Labour Party’s Hudson Griffith.
The two first-time candidates will know if the sun, dew, and in yesteday’s case, the rain, which they have been enduring over the past few days, have paid dividends.
Both were seen on the campaign trail yesterday, with Griffith encountered at Martins Bay and Thompson spotted at Guinea Tenantry. They occasionally had to seek shelter from the heavy rain.
Griffith and Thompson expressed confidence in doing well in tomorrow’s poll, with the former saying he expected to get over 2 000 votes “easily” and win the seat “without the shadow of a doubt”.
Thompson said she had been warmly greeted by the constituents, many of whom she had been interacting with for two decades.
